Violence Prevention
Our mission is to become a central point of access for violence prevention programs and information and shall be responsible for providing comprehensive services for teen and young adult females.
Position Of Pressure’s objectives are to:
Partner with law enforcement agencies, courts, correctional programs, community, local businesses and resources;
Partner with organization/institutions of education and post secondary education;
Effect permanent change in the lives of our participants that will give each individual a chance at a long, healthy, peaceful existence.
Position Of Pressure sees an end to violence and its ill affects by providing necessary holistic services and community-based education.
We are not a typical domestic violence organization. Position of Pressures nfp focuses on teens and young adults in the Chicagoland area. We re-enforce our message of COMMUNICATION through events, support and education. When people learn to communicate, they learn to express themselves without violence or harsh words.
Our name best describes the victim's circumstances. Each victim is placed in a position of pressure to do something about their situation. It takes a great deal of strength to reach out to anyone for help...Position of Pressure nfp will be there to reach back.

Founded in 1980, A Safe Place is Lake County , Illinois ’ only provider of services exclusively for victims of domestic violence. A Safe Place provides emergency shelter; affordable transitional housing; a 24-hour help line (847-249-4450); court and non-legal advocacy; individual, group, and children’s counseling; batterer intervention services; and community outreach, prevention education, and professional training. Our service area includes Lake, McHenry, and northern Cook counties in Illinois ; however, our clients come to us from across the state, region, and country. A Safe Place serves more than 2,500 adult and children victims of domestic violence each year, helping them on their path to a safer future.
